Payogan Villa is located in the stunning and mystical Ubud. Ubud is without doubt the artistic and cultural center of Bali, being surrounded by lush, tropical forests, emerald green paddy fields, and foothills to Bali’s mountainous interior, flowing rivers, and Hindu Temples. It is here where some of Indonesia’s best artists regularly showcase their work, and also where Bali’s top sculptors live. The region is frequented by culturally sensitive tourists, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and amicable, yet diverse and energized. The home of Tjokorda Gede Agung Sukawati (1910-1978), also known as the last true "king" of Ubud, remains to this day occupied by his many of his family and successors. Art, culture and dance performances are often held in the grand courtyard. Another main interest is Jalan Monkey Forest and its sacred nature reserve where you’ll find the unique Monkey Forest and its grey, crab-eating, macaque monkeys. Payogan Villa in Ubud itself is in fact a cluster of four one-bedroom villas set in immaculate tropical gardens with magnificent views over rivers and valleys. The one bedroom Valley View Pool Villa is found on the upper embankments of the river valley and also features a writing desk, wardrobe, plus select pieces of art hung around the walls. There is also a similar villa named the Duplex Valley Pool Villa, which is almost the same apart from having an extra bedroom with a grand four-poster bed, and an immaculate outdoor pavilion.
