Sanur is on the east coast of Bali just twenty five minutes north from Kuta and from the international airport. It is a pleasant stop-over and worth a visit. The mood is very causal and laid back and don't expect too much and you will have a worthwhile trip. The nightlife is restricted to a few late night bars around the Dana Poso street which are friendly and safe but after around 10pm take a turn on the sleezy side of things. The rest of the main street in Sanur, known as Jalan Tamblingan has a mixture of expats sports bars, mid class restaurants, souvenir shops, and cafes and attracts mostly unadventurous couples, average families on holiday with two point four children, and a handful of older bules looking to pick up in some of the seedier, yet harmless bars. Sanur offers sailing, snorkelling, and kitesurfing on a daily basis and is not as crowded or happening as Seminyak.
